The apartments at the Old Prices Fork Elementary School are complete and ready for lease! 16 former classrooms have been converted into two-bedroom apartments for persons 55 and older. Ten of the 16 units are reserved for low-to-moderate income households, with six units priced at market rate. Owner and Developer, Taylor Hollow Construction, renovated the school as a Historic Tax Credit project, with many elements of the former classrooms being preserved in each unit. The project was funded, in part, with local and State HOME funds, in order to provide the affordable rents for qualifying residents. Each unit was designed with universal design principles, such as levered door handles, no threshold showers, and wide doorways, with several units designed to full ADA standards. While the market rate units are already fully occupied, there are several remaining affordable units.
