The New River Valley Regional Commission is excited to announce a new virtual community engagement platform, Engage NRV!

Each year, the Commission works with communities to create projects that aid and advance the region. Traditional means of engagement and applying community voice will always be important; however current times call for innovative strategies.  With social and physical distancing in mind, the Commission has developed an accelerated online collaboration tool allowing communities to interact with projects that mean the most to them.

Businesses and citizens throughout the New River Valley can interact through EngageNRV.   Projects throughout the region will have a page and invite community voices in the decision-making process and add value to the services provided to member governments. Once in-person events resume, the Commission will continue to use EngageNRV and combine the power of multiple forms of engagement to diversify community input and ensure a wide range of voices.

The Town of Pulaski’s comprehensive plan update and planning for Radford’s eastern downtown revitalization will be the first projects to take advantage of this collaboration tool. The project teams will soon be posting opportunities to interact and provide input on these efforts.
