The Town of Narrows applied for an Industrial Revitalization Funds (IRF) planning grant in November of 2022. If awarded, this grant will support the development of a new site plan for the Snowflake Tannery historic property. The project would use part of the site to create new locations for the Town’s fire department, police station, and public works department. The remainder of the site would be redeveloped into industrial and commercial properties.
The IRF grant will partner with an awarded Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund (VBAF) grant to enable environmental evaluation and remediation of the site.
