Walter joined the Commision in 2023. He previously worked in the NRV Recovery Ecosystem through Recovery Fitness, the non-profit he founded that meshes high intensity fitness with ongoing recovery efforts. HIs previous experience in public education and logistics work in the private sector bolster his current efforts as a Community Accountability Coordinator for the NRV Recovery Ecosystem.
Walter holds a master's degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from Emory & Henry College. He is a lifelong resident of the New River Valley. Outside of work Walter spends his time focused on all aspects of fitness from Crossfit to Ultramarathons.
